You're not as important as you think. I'm not telling anyone this to burst a bubble or destroy self-esteem. It's rather quite freeing. Nobody is paying attention to what you look like or what you're wearing. They barely notice when you talk directly to them! Don't worry about what you look like in your swimsuit, because everyone else is worried about what THEY look like in theirs! We all look bad, get over it. And for that rare unicorn that looks killer, let's admire them and move on. Don't beat yourself up, because again, you're virtually invisible. You know what else makes you more see-through?! Being a mom! I've helped my kids pee behind trees, cleaned out my van at the gas station, pooped in my kids port-a-potty in the van, changed the kids (and my) clothes in broad daylight... guess what: nobody cared. If they saw, they didn't look or care. All of these things don't apply to friends and/or family; they all do, and should, care. They all see you doing all this crazy shit and love you more for it. As for your internet presence, nobody really cares there either unless, again, they're friends and/or family. I do like seeing the beautiful brunch my friend had with her husband. A random IG "influencer", I don't really care, I just scroll through and some ape part of my monkey brain might grunt a sound of recognition.
Take a breath. Sigh out *reliefffff*. You're ok! The people that should matter, care. Everyone else: fuck 'em.
